Connections - Spirit, Soul & Body

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

                                                  - Albert Einstein

Research on the link between the spirit, soul (mind, emotions & will) and the physical body is pouring in at an increasing rate and more and more commonly showing up in the popular press.  After you have established CLARITY on your goals and found the COMMITMENT to move ahead, the next step is to be sure that your perspective on health and disease is not outdated.  The CONNECTIONS between your personal stress and disease is well established.  In fact, groups like the Mayo Clinic, Stanford Medical School, Cleaveland Clinic, the CDC and more  attribute over 90% of disease to stress.

Now this is not the circumstantial stress that we think about such as traffic, stressful jobs, finances or teenage children.  The stress that kicks off disease processes is physiological stress.  It is actually our response to external or circumstantial stress that causes the problem.  Our beliefs drive our response to stress therefore driving our lives!

To learn more about this type of stress and what you can do to neutralize it, be sure to check out first two the links in Further Reading.

"Whether you believe you can do a thing or not,
you are right."
                                                                                - Henry Ford

Wellness is a participation sport.  It is not something that you observe being done to you, but something that you exert effort toward as you would to reach any goal.  As you are thinking about your health, this is an important belief system to consider.

  • Do you believe that your body is designed to self regenerate and heal?

  • What do you think about the role of genetics in cancer, heart disease, diabetes and other degenerative or chronic diseases?

  • What are your feelings around eating healthy?

  • When you have symptoms, what is your first action?Your second?

  • When you have symptoms, what is your initial feeling?

  • Who is responsible for your health or healing?

  • Do you believe that health, until you die, is your birthright?

  • Considering all that you have experienced and all that you know about yourself, what does vibrant health look like for you?

Wishing you peace and joy in 2011,

Elizabeth
