What does this "New Years Resolution" message have to do with your health? A great deal, actually.
Stress is a key underlying cause of disease. We need to expand our view of stress beyond things like traffic, the economy and our job to really get the full picture. Poor nutrition and toxicity are common sources of stress on our body. Living beneath our vision of who we want to be is a psychosocial stress. Relationships that are not where we want them to be is a great stress in our lives. Even the weather can be a stressor!
A great task in life is determining which of these we can influence directly and which ones we cannot. We can certainly do much to influence our future. It is a
studied fact that people who
set goals and tell others about them regularly accomplish more and are often happier people. I think it is important to note that if your goals are only about financial success and accomplishments then you might not end up in the happier group.
However, we all know that there are some stressors we cannot control. These are the things that will undermine all the good nutrition and exercise. These are the things that you think about from 2:00-4:00 a.m. Another perspective on these psychosocial stressors is to label them FEAR. Fear of loss, rejection, failure and many others. Fear is the opposite of faith. Both cannot operate at the same time... one always wins. Physiologically, your brain is not even wired to operate in a state of fear or instinctive reaction and a state of logic, health and rebuilding at the same time.
The implications of this has driven me personally to spend a great deal of time understanding what these underlying stressors are and how to find release from fear. In the future, I will give an overview of things such as emotional release techniques, healing prayer and pre-natal re-imprinting. I welcome anyone who wants to know more before that time to give me a call. I will gladly share what I have learned and how it has helped.
Freedom from fear in 2009... Have a great New Year!
